Brand

One mark, three languages.

The identity of Tabaga Team, a software studio. Right-click any mark to copy it as SVG; every file is listed at the bottom.

Mark

Two chevrons stacked like a rising peak: the capital A of the name with its bar taken out, and a launch already under way. The front one is ink (paper on dark); the one above it, in signal orange, is on its way up. The chevrons never touch, so the mark also works in a single colour, and it needs no mirrored version for Arabic layouts.

Construction

Each chevron is 224 units wide, 100 high at the legs, with a band 56 thick. The upper one sits 76 units above the lower, which leaves a clear gap of 20 between them. Clear space around the mark is the thickness of one band. Minimum size: 16 px high on screen, 6 mm in print.

Wordmark and lockups

TΛBΛGΛ TEΛM set in Geist Black with slightly tightened tracking, exported as outlines so it renders identically everywhere. Every A is a lambda, the same peak as the mark, and takes the accent in the colour lockups; the mono lockup is for single-colour contexts such as embossing or stamps.

Colour

Two neutrals and one accent. Signal orange is the colour of hard hats, road signs and site fencing the products are built for; it marks, it never explains. Body text is always ink or paper. Ink on signal orange passes AA for text; paper on it does not, so the accent never carries light text.

Light surfaces, the mark on dark backgrounds.

Signal orange
#ff5a1f

Accent on light: the upper chevron, the A's of the wordmark, selection, highlights. Never body text.

Signal on dark
#ff7a45

Same role on dark surfaces; lifted a little to keep the same weight.

Typography

Geist for everything read, Geist Mono for labels, data and code, Caveat for the occasional handwritten note. Headings are sentence case.

Voice

Short sentences, concrete nouns, no hype. Say what was built, for whom, and what it does. The tagline exists in the three languages the products ship in.
  • enFrom idea to launch.
  • frDe l'idée au lancement.
  • arمن الفكرة إلى الإطلاق

Usage

What keeps the identity consistent.

Do

  • Use the mark in ink, paper or the accent pair only.
  • Keep one band thickness of clear space around it.
  • Pair the mark with the wordmark for first mentions; use the mark alone once the name is established.
  • Use signal orange for selection, highlights, the upper chevron and the A's.

Don't

  • Don't recolour the front chevron, swap the two, or add gradients, outlines or shadows.
  • Don't stretch, rotate or mirror the mark; it reads the same in RTL.
  • Don't set body text in signal orange, or light text on it.
  • Don't typeset the name in any face other than Geist; use the wordmark file.
